Moisturiser
What I purchased the Lait-Crème Concentré for - it's moisturising properties are actually quite surprising. For some reason I assumed this to possess a really thick, creamy texture (something which just sounds all too inviting for dehydrated skin), but it's actually quite runny in consistency! If you're like me and you often associate thickness with higher nourishment, then I wouldn't be put off by this at all. In fact, I've found many benefits to using a moisturiser that has a lighter, more milky consistency, the main of which being its spreadability and short absorption time. A little truly does go a long way and can be built up on any areas where you may perhaps need the extra help. I have been applying this after cleansing with my rediscovered Elemis cleanser (review here) and have found that within a minute I'm left with a gorgeously smooth, fresh face with no grease or moisturiser residue left over...
Despite this however, I do find that the Lait-Crème Concentré by Embryolisse is a moisturiser that works to nourish, sooth and hydrate deeper layers of the skin also. After a mere few uses the dry patches on my cheeks had totally disappeared, yet my oily t-zone area wasn't left clogged (a common issue for my skin) or suffering as a result.
Make-up Primer
I'll just put this out there: I don't usually use make-up primers. I don't really know why because, as I say, I do get quite oily skin down the centre of my face, but this has really showcased the benefits of what adding such a simple step can do for your overall skincare and make-up routine. What's even better about Embryolisse's option in particular is that it's a two in one product; so I was able to experience those primer-related benefits without having to actually add another step to my morning routine after moisturisation. I suppose there isn't much to say about a make-up primer other than this does the job beautifully, providing a smooth, even base for any foundation or product on top. Also, despite it's amazing moisturising qualities - I didn't find that using the Lait-Crème Concentré caused any sheen as the day went on. If anything, I feel that over time it has gradually helped to reduce and balance my face's oil production. Whilst that is the case for me, if you have extremely oily skin then this may not be the best make-up primer for you. Or if you suffer from dry skin, it may be best to use a separate purpose-led primer on top of this in order to maximise it's full moisturising potential!
Face Mask
As stated above, this 'multi-functioning nourishing moisturiser' is one that can be easily built up, and thus be used as a mask when and if needed. As this cream is so gentle in nature, it doesn't really feel as though it would offer much in terms of a mask. Nevertheless, I've found that slapping on an extra layer or two of this before bed does lead you to wake up with a wonderfully plump, healthy, radiant-looking complexion. Moisture-masks aren't usually my thing so I don't have many other experiences I could compare this to, but I am impressed that it gets the job done without clogging the pores or leaving you with a greasy residue to wake up to!
Make-up Remover
Using moisturisers or oils as make-up removers is something I'm only just learning to try out, but I have to say I was surprised to see how much make-up a small layer of this baby could actually remove. The Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is a wonderfully smooth and gentle make-up remover, that's capable of breaking down even the most stubborn of mascaras and/or liquid lipsticks. I'm not sure if it's going to totally eradicate my long-love need for Bioderma's micellar water or Lush's 'Ultrabland' cleanser (review here) just yet, but I like that I no longer have to worry about those two running out if this is in my bathroom!
As you can probably tell from the above, I'd highly recommend that each and everyone reading this, regardless of your skin type, should take the opportunity to try this out - but particularly so if you suffer from sensitive skin. Also, I think this would be a great skincare item to consider if you travel a lot as, as stated, it really is wonderfully effective in a variety of key skincare-routine areas, meaning that instead of taking a few products with you, you can take just this one. It's very rare that I'd recommend a product to everyone, but this is one of those that is well-loved by make-up artists and skincare professionals for a reason. Alongside the uses described above, I have also found it's extremely gentle, non-irritating formula to be perfect for soothing burnt/sore/eczema prone skin, as well as for reducing the occurrence of post-shaving rash. My understanding (although, I could be misinformed) is that it's also safe to use on baby's skin which I think helps to demonstrate just how magically multi-purposeful the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré's nature is.
